Cheese with Dried Fruit
Ingredients
Any Semi-Soft Cheese
1 Package Dried Fruit
Assorted Crackers
Directions
Place cheese on platter. Smooth and velvety cream cheese or warm Brie are good choices. Surround with dried fruit and assorted crackers. Choose two to three varieties of fruit. For the season, dried apricots, cranberries, and pineapple would be tasty. Or, simply pick up a bag of assorted dried fruit. For an added burst of flavor, serve with orange marmalade.
This is so easy, and also pairs well with salty nuts. Smoked almonds or cashews would be delicious. Add a nice glass of wine and enjoy!
Santa's Hat
Ingredients
1 Half Gallon Vanilla Ice Cream
1 Can Whipped Cream (recommended brand: Ready Whip)
Red Colored Sugar
Cherries
Santa Mugs
Directions
Spoon ice cream into a large bowl. Cover and place in the refrigerator overnight to melt. Remove and stir. Add flavorings, if desired. Pour into Santa mugs. Top with a "hat" of whipped topping. Sprinkle with red sugar and top with a cherry.
Mix and match flavors of ice cream with "add-ins". For vanilla, stir in a touch of Madagascar vanilla and freshly grated nutmeg, or add a splash of bourbon or Baileys Irish Cream. Try chocolate with Kahlua or Chambord. Or, simply stir in a bit of cinnamon. Mint flavored Irish Cream would also be delicious with the chocolate custard. Have fun and be creative!
